The Bradford County Civil War organization, in conjunction with French Azilum, Inc., proudly presents Bradford County’s 2nd annual Civil War event, “A Soldier’s Rest,” August 5th & 6th on the grounds of French Azilum. The weekend long event will feature various demonstrations, such as cannon firings, military maneuvers, a load-in-nine competition, a period correct ladies tea and more! Admission to the Civil War and grounds will $8.

The Arts at Azilum
Enjoy a day out at one of the most beautiful and inspiring places in Northeastern Pennsylvania: French Azilum! Local artists will be on site with a selection of their works to browse and buy, and some may be painting en plein air or creating pottery or other objets d'art right before your eyes! Additionally, those who ply artistical skills from days gone by will be at the site as well: weavers, candle dippers, stone masons and a blacksmith will share their know how with visitors and explain the importance of what they do. The LaPorte House will of course be open for tours every hour, noon to four p.m. So plan to come out and experience and explore with local artists and artisans from 11-5, on August 12.Price for theevent and sitte is $8.
